These become more troublesome when the camera only shows the aftermath of a party and not the party itself, but the movie doesn't deal with them. By regularly showing Pokorny with alcohol, the film suggests some potential issues in his life (and he does talk about drinking at a young age). Instead, we see light drinking on more than one occasion and get to see the after effects. Bishop's camera, which wonderfully tells the story of Dwarven Forge and Pokorny's D&D dreams, shies away from some of the more intimate moments and some of the more drunken revelries. Pokorny, as presented, is not a man worried about what the future may hold decades down the line, but rather what he can do in the present to help launch this ambitious project… that and drink. We watch as he attends more than one gaming convention, makes a pilgrimage to the house where D&D was born, and generally lives out his dreams. As the film unspools, we learn about Pokorny's troubled youth, his being adopted, and the years that it has taken him to build Dwarven Forge. The goal this time, rather than selling a miniature dungeon or cave, is to sell a miniature city, Valoria, which Pokorny has been telling tales about for most of his life. The company is about to launch its third, and most ambitious, Kickstarter project. We soon learn that it is Pokorny telling the tale and that what we are looking at is the miniature gaming terrain manufactured by his company, Dwarven Forge.
